Marketing & PR Manager
Min. Time Commitment: 10 - 20 hrs/week (negotiable)

GLP is looking for an intern who will manage Global Lives Project social media presence (blogging, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, etc.) and develop relationships with new exhibition venues, funders, and community of existing supporters. The Marketing and PR Manager must have experience with or willingness to learn basic HTML layout and Salesforce.
This intern will carefully study the content of the Global Lives Project website with an eye towards increasing ease of use and comprehensibility to general audiences, as well as developing and executing:

Google Adwords — Google has offered Global Lives a free adwords grant worth tens of thousands of dollars in free advertising. The intern will setup and monitor the effectiveness of this program.

Google Analytics — The intern will study analytics data to optimize the Global Lives website based on analytics data.

Marketing Materials — The intern will conduct an inventory and analysis of all past marketing materials and develop an easy to use set of documents that volunteers or collaborators can use to publicize their own self-organized Global Lives Project events.

Facebook — The intern will make regular posts to Facebook.com/globallives and work to increase fans, develop relationships, draw users to the Global Lives website, and more deeply integrate Facebook Groups from individual shoots into the Global Lives Project website.

Twitter — The intern will regularly post to the Global Lives Project twitter account and interact with our followers in a friendly and professional manner.

Flickr — Organize the Global Lives Flickr account and post photos of past and upcoming events.

Salesforce — The intern will work regularly with GLP's contact database in Salesforce, cleaning the data, updating contacts and studying responses to past campaigns. Ultimately, the intern will prepare a report to the Development Committee and Board of Directors on the efficacy of fundraising and event campaigns in 2010 and 2011, with recommendations for 2012 fundraising planning.

Newsletters — The intern will produce a quarterly newsletter to send to the Global Lives Project communtiy, as well as research, develop and launch a blog to be used by Global Lives collective members to communicate and stay connected with one another.
Required qualifications:
Flawless writing skills and the ability to craft a personable, professional tone for all public-facing communications
Knowledge of Adobe Indesign, Photoshop
Familiarity and comfort with Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube
Basic HTML knowledge
Famiarity with Salesforce a plus, but not required
Work Arrangements

GLP is open to receiving full-time and/or part-time students, as well as recent graduates.

Participants need to supply their own computers.

Regular written reports will be expected from interns documenting progress.

Interns will work in San Francisco, with the option for occassional remote work supported by video/teleconference meetings due to intermittent travel.
