United Nations University Installation - Tokyo, September 26, 2008
The Global Lives Project teamed up with the United Nations University Media Studio and Temple University Japan to produce our first outdoor video installation in Tokyo in front of the UNU building on Aoyama-dori, a major boulevard in downtown Tokyo. The installation was part of the UNU's first annual Peace & Creativity Salon, an event conceived jointly with Global Lives as a showcase for a series of works that use the power of video to promote social change. Other videos shown included the world premiere of the feature film, Soldiers of Peace as well as UNU's own documentaries, The Wisdom Years and Voices of the Chichinautzin. The event attracted more than 300 attendees and was supported by generous loans of projectors and sound equipment from Sony.
GLP volunteers Nobuhiro Awata, Irene Herrera and Ron Carr coordinated the production locally with support from Antonio Canales, J R Lipartito, Seiichi, Ken and many others. Thanks to all for making the event a huge success!!!
